Learning Objectives:
- Recognize the importance of a clear oral radiology course syllabus, course guide, and course calendar in planning a successful experience for students.
- Discuss hands-on tips and tricks in obtaining and evaluating quality digital imaging
- Demonstrate skills to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation by understanding the Recommendations for Patient Selection and Limiting Radiation Exposure (2012) and expand on applying these recommendations to a patient care protocol.
- Provide examples of an assignment, rubric, and classroom activity related to oral radiology.
Oral radiology is a subject critical to the clinical success of each entry-level clinician. This course will motivate faculty who wish to create an organized and enjoyable radiology education experience. Guides for creating radiology assessment criteria, along with group discussion, will give attendees the materials they need to choose a textbook, create a syllabus, maintain radiology safety training standards, and make sense of the complex concepts and techniques students must grasp as they learn the art of radiology.
